Who doesn't like cute psycho loli girls who want to kill you?

It's based on an ongoing game that's divided into 8 chapters, and the plot twists are incredible. Something like only 1% of the people will be able to figure it out according to the creator (although with the internet, you only need one person to figure it out and tell everyone else )

You'll probably need this to solve the mystery. These were included in the game when you went past certain points, and they include some extra information about what happened, like the newspaper articles. Well, I guess my inconsistent blogging will last for several more days as the projects all come crashing together.

Oh, I was pretty surprised that Aaron had such an adverse reaction to watching Higurashi no Naku Koro ni. He was completely creeped out and had trouble sleeping.

Yeah, this is the longest time I've gone on without blogging. Hope it doesn't become a habit.

It's on account of projects I had due.

In these few days, I slept at 6am and woke up at 10am once, and went without food for 24 hours.

I can see how people can become addicted to work.

But my project demo failed, or rather, it was working, but it was working too slowly so I *thouht* it failed, and so I panicked, restarting it, which just restarted the process again. Then as soon as the professor left, it started working. -_-

I ended up staying late to re-demo the project, missing part of my other class, which was a review session, which ended around 5-10 minutes after I got there.

Yay, they accepted me!

Basically it lets me have vids that are longer than 10 minutes, which I will need for my longer replays (my last vid was 9:53!)

Even better is that it lets me link to my Touhou page, and the nice little badge isn't bad either.

I actually cleared these a while back, but didn't create and upload the videos until recently. Only thing really left is her Last Word.





So anyway, slightly redesigned my site today. You may or may not notice the changes. Mainly got rid of some obsoleted crap.

Have a final tomorrow! Then a final the morning afterwards! The second final I'm not as worried, because assuming we don't do too poorly, he'll just take the max of the midterm and final and multiply it by 2, and since I already did really well on the midterm, I'm not as stressed. As for the first final, well, hope I do well there.

After many many months, they finally gave me an invitation code!

Pretty spiffy. Lots of data that the other trackers I've been using don't have. Not quite sure I'll completely remove my other trackers yet though, since I do like full visitor IP info, which Google Analytics doesn't provide. Then again, I already have access to that through Tabulas's own visitor logs.

Oh, and finished on exam today. Did... ok I guess.

I really need to get back into the habit of blogging every day. It was one of the few areas in my life where I was maintaining some sort of discipline.

So... my security exam went pretty well I think. I might not have done as well as the midterm (topping 28/30 isn't easy), but I'll probably get the benefit of the best score x 2.

Then I gamed for many hours straight, and now I'm getting ready to move to my new place. Kickout time is noon on Sunday.

I am EXHAUSTED! I think I spent more than half the day in some standing position.

So woke up to go to Sophia's graduation at 2PM (congratulations Sophia!), which meant getting out at like 12:15 (including one trip to my new place and move some stuff in my backpack). Then that lasted to 4:30 or so. Then it was picture time for a couple more hours. Then finally, Sophia had to go back with her parents. The rest of us went to dinner at 99 Ranch at some fancy Chinese restaurant that was newly opened. Pretty meh (pricey), about 2x what I'd pay at Bay Fung Tong. The pork dish was pretty good though. We were also the ONLY table without someone 30+ so we kinda stood out. After that, it was BART and bus back while they went to sing karaoke, and then a mad rush to finish packing my stuff before my roommate came to help me move stuff. He helped with two car trips (thank you!), which was enough to move the big stuff that would be a pain to move without a car. Then I went over once to move more stuff, and now I'm on my final trip, just waiting for my laundry to dry.

Oh, while there, I had to mess with their internet cables. Coiled so much that it was way too short, so it only reached a little inside the door. So fine, I move the table over there and set my monitor and computer there. Then I look for an outlet. 2 prongs. Doh! And my extension cord could not reach from the other side of the room. So I go downstairs to where the router was and started uncoiling the cable through the mass of sticky tape and cable holders, which are on the ceiling/wall, so I had to do the entire thing on a chair. Then I moved all the stuff back to the other corner of the room, and set everything up and thankfully it worked fine. Speed's about half of what I used to have back in Berkeley, but at least it's much better than this crap dorm stuff I've had to endure for a year (of course, now that everyone's GONE, the speed's actually useable, but I have to move out too).

Can't wait to go to bed. Still need to come back tomorrow morning to vacuum my room and then checkout. Then I'm gonna go watch the Da Vinci Code with Xia later that day.

Oh and, unexpected encounter with Chester! He graduated in December, but he was walking today, so yeah. :D

My computer keeps crashing. The screen turns to garbage, then blank. I have to do a hard reset each time. The fan continues spinning though, so it may be the video card. But I have to reset each time. -_-

Opened it up, oiled my fans, cleaned out some dust. Running a song in the background now so I can see if it's the CPU/motherboard, or just the video card (if the song continues playing, a good chance it's the video card).

Finished my checkout today. I think I may have left my umbrella in the dorms though, as I couldn't find it later today when it was raining. Went with Xia to watch The Da Vinci Code, and bought a $2 umbrella before then (it's a bit small, so I think it's for kids, oh well, at least it's really cheap). The movie was decent. I liked how they'd highlight bits of the the symbolism to make it easier to understand.

I don't think I really noticed this when I read the book, but when they said something about how the mind will see what it wants to see, I realized that The Da Vinci Code is basically the skeptics' equivalent of the Bible Code.

I still don't see why so many people are so upset at the film though. It's a work of fiction after all...

Afterwards, we went and ate a buffet at the local Hotpot City. Mmm, much meaty goodness. :D

Meanwhile, it was also Reitaisai in Japan. The most popular things are probably Touhou Soccer (like the old Captain Tsubasa games, but with Touhou characters), MegaMari (Rockman/Megaman with Touhou characters, brought to you by the same people who made Touhou 7.5 - Immaterial and Missing Power), and of course, ZUN's CDs. 500 yen and 700 yen (around $5 and $7 respectively). Now THAT's what music CDs should cost.

Uff, work tomorrow. Gotta get up early.

Ugh, these 8AM work hours are pretty annoying.

So let's see. Went shopping at Ross with Xia, or rather, watched her shop. I'm not much for shopping for clothes, and their selecting of non-clothing stuff is pretty meager. Then we ate at My Tofu House, which was pretty spicy. Spiciness is bad as it overpowers the other tastes.

Phillip had to work. But Xia and I went to Haight to see what that area's like. It's basically like Clement, for non-Asians. Which means it's basically Telegraph, along with the obligatory panhandlers. Ate at a Thai place there. It was authentic in that all the employees were actually Thai. Food was decent I guess.

Xia was mesmerized by this one store with a bunch of relatively cheap jewelry, which was still pretty overpriced. But that store is definitely shiny inside.

And before we went, I found that my neighbor had thrown away a desk, so I took it into my room with her help. Yay, now I have a decent desk!

My roommate finally came back again to sleep. Talked a lot about a bunch of stuff, including what stuff I wanted from him since he's moving out and he doesn't want to take it all with him.

The oven in the house doesn't work. That really really sucks.

The story is really twisty because you don't know which of the twin sister's which throughout the chapter (they lie). But that's what's so great about Higurashi!
